Dramaturg Cori Ellison recounts City Opera's proud history of nurturing African-American artists and works. The evening features a historical slideshow and selections from X: The Life and Times of Malcolm X, Margaret Garner, Lily, The Mother of Three Sons and other works of special relevance performed by members of Opera Noire of New York.
